We can’t wait to welcome you to our community for the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games. There’s so much to do, you may want to plan for a longer stay or a return trip. The winter season brings opportunities to snowshoe on local trails, cross-country ski at Hallis Lake, downhill ski at Troll, toboggan in LeBourdais Park, ice fish on Dragon Lake, or snowmobile out in Wells.

If you don’t have gear, rentals are available at Hallis Lake, and Troll. You can borrow an ice auger from the Quesnel Visitor Information Centre.

Want to stay closer to town? The Riverfront Trail is maintained throughout the winter for a walk along the banks of the Quesnel and Fraser Rivers. Pause in Lhtako Dene Park to learn about the culture of Lhtako Dene, who have lived in this region since time immemorial. If the weather isn’t cooperating, but you want to stretch your legs, stay indoors on the rubberized walking track in West Fraser Arena.

We would love to welcome you back in the summer months. Our ever growing network of mountain bike trails has something for all skill levels. There are hikes with great views, lakes to explore by paddle, and Dragon Lake fishing can’t be beat. History buffs won’t want to miss our museum, and don’t forget to check out Barkerville, open May to September, only a short drive away.
