The Opening Ceremony is a memorable experience and kicks off what will be a fantastic four days. The ceremony will feature the participant parade, guest speakers, entertainment acts, and the lighting of the BC Games Torch. Participants are encouraged to dress in zone colours. The ceremony is indoors, however, participants will travel a short distance outside from the marshaling area to West Fraser Centre. Please dress appropriately. There is no service to store bags or coats.

Note: this Opening Ceremony venue has limited spectator seating capacity.  An Opening Ceremony ticketing plan will be announced to parents via participant E-newsletters and the Guide to the Games. A ticket release will go live on February 12 at 12:30pm and will only be available to participants via the BC Games Participant Website.

A live watch parted at the North Star Church (301 N Star Road, Quesnel BC) will be hosted as another way for family, friends and the general public to enjoy the excited of the Opening Ceremony. The Opening Ceremony will also be livestreamed so family can also enjoy this special night from the comfort of their own home or accommodation.  Livestream link will be promoted on social media channels. The ceremony will also be broadcast on the local Rogers channel.

Full Dress Rehearsal
Volunteers, parents of performers, and Quesnel residents can take in the Opening Ceremony full dress rehearsal on Thursday, February 22 at 10:30 am at the West Fraser Centre. This will feature all performances and entertainment, missing only the parade of participants. No tickets are needed - seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
