ProMOTION Plus Leadership Award – Call for Nominations!

Call for Nominations! The Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games, in partnership with Sport BC and the BC Games Society, is excited to announce the opening of nominations for the ProMOTION Plus Leadership Award, which will be presented on February 23, 2024, at the Games.

Through Sport BC and its members, ProMOTION Plus strives to ensure gender equity is a standard throughout the provincial sport sector. The work of ProMOTION Plus ensures girls and women have equal opportunities in physical activity and sport and helps all girls and women in BC have access to a complete range of opportunities, choices, and resources that lead to positive experiences in physical activity and competitive and recreational sport as participants and leaders.

Additional Information

General Criteria:
To identify, recognize, and celebrate the accomplishment(s) of an individual, organization, or group in BC that has challenged the traditional limits for women and girls in physical activity and sport and in doing so has supported girls and/or women to participate more fully in physical activity or sport as participants, competitors and/or leaders.

Nominations may include but are not limited to the achievements of athletes, teams, coaches, officials, administrators, or volunteers and programs or special events, which increased or enhanced opportunities for girls or women.

We ask that nominators focus on the candidate’s achievements over the past two years (2021-2023).

For example, this award could recognize:

• A new, enhanced, or expanded program or service.
• The achievements of an athlete, coach, or official in their school, region, or province.
• Competitive achievements of an athlete, coach, or official at a province-wide or broader competition/event.
• A special event that was targeted toward the participation of girls and women under the age of 19.
• An organization for hosting a special event for women and girls under the age of 19.

Only one award will be presented.

Nomination Forms are available through the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games Office, or you can download it below. The deadline for nominations is January 20, 2024. The award will be presented at the Games on Friday, February 23.
